Students currently registered for Level 4 and Level 5 classes for Project C Studios’ 2016-2017 dance season are invited to submit ideas/concepts for choreography for the 2017 Student Choreography Showcase.
Selected works will be performed Saturday, February 4th in the Project C Studios’ Black Box.
The work submitted can be in the planning stages, or may already be in the process of creation, can be in any style or genre, and can also be a collaborative work between two choreographers. Selected choreographers will be assigned a Faculty Mentor, based on their request and Mentor availability, for the duration of their creative process in order to help them develop their work and artistry.
Auditions will be held for any choreographers in need of dancers for their work on Saturday, November 19th, 2016. Auditions will be open to currently registered Level 3 through 5 dancers, and Choreographers are not under any obligation to use auditioning dancers. Once dancers are selected, choreographers will set and clean their choreography with the guidance and support of their Mentors mid-November 2016 through January 2017. Choreographers will have the ability to reserve studio space for rehearsals through the Project C office at a significantly discounted rate.
To apply, please submit one Submission Sheet for each choreographic concept being submitted and a video link of proposed work and/or phrasework, if possible. (Video not required, but helpful in the selection process.) Please submit all material to Sue O’Donnell, Project C Manager, no later than SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5th, 2016 via email at Manager@ProjectCStudios.com, USPS to Project C Studios, 519 Old Westminster Pike, Suite 4, Westminster, MD 21157 or hand delivery. Accepted submissions will be notified by November 12th, 2016.
